Coming Home

I've returned home after what seemed like months of being away. The challenges from my job have luckily been spared from the camera lens. Photos have a funny way of showing the truth and absolute lies at the same time. I have some beautiful images that I was able to capture, but I was in pain in many ways too. I'm raw about it now, but someday I might have my head wrapped around it. Tanzania, however, was a place of healing for me. It came after working almost every day, at all hours, for months. I could hardly stay awake, my body wanted to catch up on sleep that I'd long since forgotten I needed. When I was conscious, I was filled with stories of others. I met the people who were family to the man I'd meet and fall in love with only a few days after he moved back to the U.S. My boyfriend lived in a small town and he introduced me to the people and places that meant the most to him. Below are a few photos I took along the way.
